Survival is our top priority, and these are the things you simply cannot do without:

While it’s wonderful to celebrate special occasions, you can  temporarily forgo purchasing gifts for others. We decided to stop exchanging gifts with each other and the adults in our family. We only give gifts to the kids for the 5 years we were paying off our house. 

2. Vacations/Trips

As tempting as it may be to jet off to exotic destinations, you can resist the urge to indulge in non-essential travel during this period.

3. Restaurants/Fast Food
