Everyone has that one lazy dinner they turn to when life feels a little too busy.

There’s a lot of cooking happening in my house. Most of the time, I love it. Some nights it’s a pot of soup simmering away or a recipe that somehow dirties every bowl I own. Other nights, it’s something simple that still takes just enough effort to make me feel like I’ve accomplished something.
But then there are the weeks when work piles up, the to-do list grows faster than I can cross things off, and even deciding what to eat feels exhausting.
If you need a little encouragement instead, I have a collection of motivational quotes that always help me reset.
That’s when I reach for my go-to lazy dinner.
Mine is almost embarrassingly simple: macaroni with the (KD Kraft shaker).
I usually buy it on Amazon, but if you have a Costco membership, it’s much cheaper there.

I’m dreaming of it now… actually.
Not freshly grated Parmesan or Pecorino. I’m talking about the giant orange and blue shaker that’s always in the pantry. I make a pot of macaroni, stir in a little butter and milk, then shake in some of the dry KD powder that would probably raise any health fanatics eyebrows, but it really makes me and my husband incredibly happy. Just stir, taste, add another shake (or five), and dinner is done.
It’s buttery, salty, nostalgic, and exactly what I want after a long day. No pulling up a recipe. Just one pot. Five minutes. And almost no cleanup.
I think every household has a meal like this. The one that says, “Nope not today.” Mine takes me right back to being a kid, eating Kraft dinner from a box, but also the adult version with the full size noodles… yum.
If I wanted to be really nostalgic I’d throw in some sliced-up wieners. That really takes me back, but also gives me the feeling of a heart attack in a bowl lol. But honestly, I usually leave it exactly as it is.
Lazy dinners aren’t about being impressive.
They’re lazy because we’re feeling lazy. That’s the point. Giving myself permission to be lazy for a night.
Because as much as I love cooking, not every meal has to be an event, like Landman.
So… thoughts: What’s your go-to lazy dinner? The easy meal you make when you can’t be bothered, but it still hits the spot every single time.
Thank You’s!
